I read an article about a guy in Florida who takes his Chocolate Lab Cody to work with him every day at a BP Gas Station. Cody hops up to the drive thru window and greets everyone. The story explains how everyone drives up in a foul mood but drives away with a smile on their face.
I started thinking to myself, how would my life change if I was able to be greeted by a furry friend at all of the stores I stop in during the day living my life? I smile just thinking about it and hope that one day it will become more common. Pets make our lives so much better and there are a lot of people in the world that don’t know amazing fact this yet.
If Cody the BP station helper in Florida is making the customer’s smile, I wonder how many of them decided to research adopting a pet that very same day? I really do think that having people exposed to the amazing power of happiness a pet exudes will help to reduce pet overpopulation long term.
What I would love to know is how do you help people on a daily basis feel just a bit more happy?
Here is the article about Cody, I promise that this is my way of making you smile today by sharing it with you!
UPDATE:
The Health Department in Florida came in and ruined Cody’s time by asking him to leave the facility. Now he has to stay home with his other pet siblings. I think that there should be a bit more flexibility but the premise of my post remains the same, I hope that more store owner’s will consider making their stores pet friendly so that I can get some puppy love during my errands or even bring my pups with me when I am out and about.
